Verse Of The Day:
"Be still, and know that I am God"... (Psalm 46:10) [NIV] Verse Of The Day loading... Monday, August 16, 2010 2 Corinthians 7:1: "Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God." I really like this verse of the day.. it reminds me to purify myself from sinful thoughts and actions, and thereby perfecting holiness.. and it even guides us that we do it through reverence for God.. reverence for God.. this is one phrase that is often used.. especially in traditional presbyterian churches.. we are told to stand in awe of God and His majestic creations.. once we recognise the vastness of God's glory and power, we will naturally not dare to sin.. we often sin because we fail to fully comprehend God's power and sovereignty.. when we do not recognise that it's incredibly harmful (to ourselves) when we sin, we therefore sin.. hence we need to spend time in reverence for God.. and it's not just fear, being in reverence for God gives us strength too.. because we know that our God is so powerful that we have no need to fear anything that this world throws at us.. reverence for God brings fear; and yet it also gives us strength..
