Verse Of The Day:
"Be still, and know that I am God"... (Psalm 46:10) [NIV] Verse Of The Day loading... Monday, August 9, 2010 http://www.crosswalk.com/spirituallife/11608579/ I read this article and I felt that it's kinda true... It's about how Christians often don't portray themselves as real people with real problems so sometimes it gets hard to share our problems (especially for non-believers) as everyone else seems so 'perfect'... I personally feel that while I do share my problems, I tend to keep some of my more personal weaknesses to myself as I am often ashamed of them especially when everyone else around seems so strong... Hmm actually as I'm posting this article i'm not too sure whether it is suitable.. cos maybe everyone else is really that strong/good... If so I give thanks... if not let's all try to 'keep it real' so that we can really love & be loved & grow together. Labels: fellowship
If you're struggling with something, you're probably not going to want to ask the woman who seems perfect for help; you may be too proud or too shy. I would prefer to talk to someone who's struggled with this issue and overcome it. Real people seem to be those who are frank about their struggles, but only because they know this: God's grace overcomes weakness, and he receives glory when the believer testifies of her failings and his faithfulness. When a friend tells me of her struggles with sin, and how God is giving her grace in that area of her life, I know that she will be supportive and encourage me in truth if I ever walk a similar path. I really like this part in the article.. and i totally agree that we often tend to hide our iniquities, shortcomings and especially our struggles in church and amongst the people around us.. we tend to picture ourselves living in such a "virtual" and "perfect" world and just ignore the imperfections and the rough edges.. and we're afraid to share them, perhaps cos we're afraid to cause them to stumble, or perhaps we think that it's easier to let others see our good and hence our good religion.. but that tends to let people think of us as impossibly good.. and i think it's especially for us in fellowship - to 单单夸我的软弱,好叫基督的能力覆蔽我..
