Verse Of The Day:
"Be still, and know that I am God"... (Psalm 46:10) [NIV] Verse Of The Day loading... Wednesday, August 4, 2010 For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. [Philippians 3:18-21]it's just so comforting to know that our bodies are only temporal.. and that we'll eventually be meeting our great maker who will make everything perfect.. so let us not merely mind earthly things (not that we have to be disconnected from this world), but let us focus more on God's kingdom and let the world fade into the background.. and let us remember that we are citizens of Heaven and tourists of earth. it is really hard to live like as strangers on this earth and seek the city that is to come. everyday that we live in this world we face so many challenges and temptations. I've always struggled with my need to gain others' acceptance. Very often, i find myself consciously or subconsciously behaving in a way that is not who i am just to gain others' admiration or even just to feel proud of myself. But when doing so I forget that all of this world is merely God's creation and all I need is God's acceptance. (i thank God for giving me the chance to turn back to him and embark on the journey of growing in Him) all of us may have different issues but we must recognize that we ALL have issues. it might be anger, greed, lack of faith etc. these issues may not haunt us right now but they will in time. Hence 1. Remember that our citizenship is in heaven and do not store treasures on this earth for they are but 2. Place our hope in the promise of an eternal life with God by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ who loved us and gave himself for us 3. Constantly seek God (day & night) through prayer & meditating on his word (IMPT) 4. Praise god because his steadfast love is better than life and is greater than anything good or bad that happens to us. --> So that when trials and temptations knock on the door, we may have the strength to stay faithful to our Lord. extra: we are not perfect. (we will always be work-in-progress till we return to our heavenly home). Do not despair if we fall or feel that we are not good enough - Our God does not reject us because we fail. Know that God's love is greater than our sins. He is always waiting for us to turn (back) to Him.
