Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. [Philippians 2:3-4]
This is what i have learnt about service and ministry today. But often it's so hard to do because it's basic self-love and it's totally counter-intuitive to consider others better than ourselves. In this case, it also means to consider others more important than ourselves.. But say that to any non-believer and you might get condemned as a heretic.. but let's face it, our religion has always required us to make some life-changing decisions to stand up against some traditional beliefs; and more often than not, we don't readily accept those changes..

but let's all try our very best, to look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others around us.. and if we all do our part in this, the love will go around and our own needs will be taken care of as well!!
