Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6

Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God. - 1 Peter 3:18

School's been beckoning of late and it's been difficult finding God amidst the struggles in school, the monotony of life in general.

In my daily seeking of Christ, I realise that in our legalistically-programmed minds, we can search in the wrong ways or the wrong places sometimes, eg. erroneously thinking that God will present Himself if we behave, think, act, feel in a way because God has told us to. Simply put, we try to find God through our works.

But alas, there no other way to God except through Christ. When we feel that we cannot find God no matter what we do, let us remember that it is only through Christ (and not ourselves!) that we may find God and let us meditate upon His deep love for us through the Cross..

Thank You for the Cross Lord...

yeah, so often i feel like i can justify my salvation through my own works! like studying harder so that i may be "better" by worldly standards.. but i have to constantly remind myself that we are justified and saved, not by our actions, but by God's grace alone..

So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.[Zechariah 4:6]

which reminds me of what Seth brought up during cell group sharing last week: "after you die, how would you justify to God that you deserve to be in Heaven?" and it's a question worth pondering and reminding ourselves of..
