Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. [Revelation 3:4-5]

The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. [1 John 2:4-6]

I feel especially empowered when i read Revelation 3:5, about us who have managed to overcome our bad habits and sins will be "dressed in white", and hence be regarded as pure once again.. It feels good to be reminded that God will not take it upon us of our sins when we truly repent and ask for forgiveness..

and yet at the same time, it is our duty to do whatever God commanded us to do, as mentioned in 1 John 2.. we cannot say that we know God if we do not do what He commands.. if we truly know God, we will fear and revere Him so much that we do not dare to go against His commands..
