Verse Of The Day:
"Be still, and know that I am God"... (Psalm 46:10) [NIV] Verse Of The Day loading... Saturday, September 25, 2010 How do you respond to the greeting, “How are you?” Most of us simply reply, “Fine. How are you?” Others develop trademark comebacks, such as “Better than I deserve.” I know of one fellow who answers, “I’m just the Lord’s prostitute.”After reading this devotional article today, i was taken aback and utterly shocked at the article, about the wrath of God, and about the sins of Man.. Indeed, while Moses was receiving the covenant from God, Aaron led the people to melt their earrings and worship the golden calf.. And most shocking was Exodus 32:9-10: "I have seen these people," the LORD said to Moses, "and they are a stiff-necked people. Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation." Indeed our God is a just God who will not withhold good from those who deserve it and will not withhold punishment for those who have sinned.. In this case, God threatened to kill the Israelites!! Now think about our own sins, of worshiping money, education, friendship, or just worshiping the act of being idle.. We have placed many of such gods before God throughout the week, and still cheekily dare to attend church in the presence of God on sundays.. We pray that God will forgive us of our sins against Him who gave us the laws, and the covenants.. We ask for forgiveness for our narrow minded venture into taking control over our own small insignificant lives.. And we are assured of grace when we return to God.. The Lord says, “Then I will heal you of your faithlessness; my love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever." [Hosea 14:4] Labels: sharings
