For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.

We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. [Romans 8:24-27]

Romans 8:24-25 really speaks with great wisdom - "who hopes for what he already has?", and i think this really nailed it!! that whatever we hope for, we know that there is some uncertainly involved in it - that's why we hope for it in the first place!!

and verses 26-27 reassures us that we are never alone, the Spirit constantly prays for us, in addition to constantly reminding us to live our lives righteously.. how empowering it is, to know that God looks after us and knows what we need, even when we do not know how to pray for it!
