团契集体灵修时刻 - 约翰福音 第五章

and so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.” But he replied, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ”So they asked him, “Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?” [John 5:10-12]

In this passage, we see that the Jewish leaders questioned the man aboout his reasons for working during Sabbath. And when the man replied, the Jewish leaders only wanted to listen to what they wanted to hear.. they wanted to find out who is the "culprit" to prove their point, but in doing so, they've missed out on the fact that there's someone amongst them who CAN heal!! this reminded me to really pay attention and to be sensitive to what people say and not to be quick to make use of others to prove my point.. when we're questioning someone about being late, we should also look out for the issues that's causing the issue like "oh i was busy helping my mom with housework", rather than to hear words like "oh sorry, i forgot".. the issue can be minor like housework, or it can be major like illness of a family member or something else.. so this really reminded me to love others by paying attention and to listen and not just to hear..

Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” [John 5:14]

once again, another passage reminding us to stop sinning. i really want to know how to get a proper Fear of God, and i wish i have the Fear of God in me, because so often when i sin, i do not consider the gravity of the situation.. we're not really afraid of God when we sinned.. and i pray that God will help us to know Him more, to stand in awe, and to fear the infinitely powerful God..

enough said. Seek God. Love God. and seek recognition from God and not from men.

He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” [Luke 10:27]
