“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd." [John 10:11-16 NKJV]

"Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”" [John 21:16]

as i read verses 11-16 and i recall john 21:16 about Jesus saying to Peter to "take care of my sheep", it really reminds me that God tells us all to take care of His sheep.. but to take care of them like shepherds do and not like hirelings do.. because we are God's children and we have to take care of the sheeps that belong to our Father.. and here in verses 11-16 we are reminded of the pitfalls of life.. when the wolf (read: trials, temptations, busy schedule in life) comes, do we leave the sheep or will we stay by our Father's command to take care of His sheep???
