Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. [1 Corinthians 13:4-6]

very familiar passage isn't it? it speaks about LOVE, and what love means.. BUT have we done it?? i've read the book "crazy love" and one of it's exercises is this - substitute "love" with our own name, and read it.. such that it goes something like this:

Benjamin is patient, Benjamin is kind. Benjamin does not envy, Benjamin does not boast, Benjamin is not proud. Benjamin does not dishonor others, Benjamin is not self-seeking..

oh i just can't continue with that blatant lying! gosh, when i read it out in my mind (and when typing it out), i felt so disgusted with myself!! i'm notorious for being impatient, what patience is there! and that's just the first quality of Love!!

i pray, and it is my desire, to be able to LOVE. Because, simply, GOD IS LOVE.

oh, and the main point is - it helps to be aware of what we're lacking; and this exercise does put things into perspective of the immense amount of work I need to get done, just on Love.

i hope all of us who reads this, tries this exercise, and discover it for yourself..
