Verse Of The Day:
"Be still, and know that I am God"... (Psalm 46:10) [NIV] Verse Of The Day loading... Friday, December 3, 2010 Ming Yi's monk status questioned over $1,000-a-table dinner This is an article about how they spent $200,000 to celebrate "the return of Ming Yi" to the temple as well as to celebrate his 20 years of service. Evidently the top buddhist monks were not very pleased that Ming Yi has effectively started another "golden tap" issue.. i think this article is a very subtle reminder for us to relook at ourselves too.. be it in church, or even our very own lives - are we rewarding ourselves excessively in this world? could the time and money be better spent on something else?? we go for the movie after exams, then we decide to go for LAN gaming since we haven't done it in so long, then we decide we should finish that new season of glee which we have downloaded but have "diligently" not watched it till after the exams.. but the question is - should be lavish ourselves with such atrocious "gifts" and "parties" too, when we could have spent a quarter of the time on LAN gaming on reading the bible and meditating on God's Words and find ourselves being more satisfied?? i think this is a very good reminder for all of us to make better use of our holidays and not to squander it off so easily.. time is short, money is limited, use it wisely..
