Verse Of The Day:
"Be still, and know that I am God"... (Psalm 46:10) [NIV] Verse Of The Day loading... Friday, March 18, 2011 ONE week ago, the earthquake struck Japan. One week later, they are still battling - trying to juggle issues of recovering the dead, finding the missing, building homes for the homeless, reconstructing the country's infrastructure, etc. And all these are compounded by the fact that they are dealing with what some nuclear agencies are calling a nuclear disaster of chernobyl's proportions. Yes, we should continue to pray fervently for them. But as i thought about these disasters, it really just reminds me of ho fragile life is! So what if you have the best IT gadgets. And so what if you MAKE the best IT gadgets? So what if you're doing so well in life?? so what if you're having great GDP growth? At the end of the day, NOBODY can be fully prepared when a disaster strikes. And haven't us all seen the correlation yet?? WHAT ABOUT GOD?? When GOD comes, what does all our money, educational achievements, friendships all amount to?? It is a frightening reality to realign my focus and visions on the things that are truly eternal. It is a frightening reminder to make sure that I get back on track with God, and to build the relationship with God that will make me walk along the right path in life that is not heading towards destruction. It reminds me to be prudent about life. It reminds me - THAT WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME - to know more about God, to talk to God more, and to obey his commands to spread His Word to the ends of the earth!! then what about when they're dealing with these disasters? we see that they are dealing with so many things - but aren't we also doing the same with our lives? we seek to recover lost friendships, build up our networking infrastructure in our lives. And we try to do all these in the face of the "nuclear" emergency of having a not-so-close relationship with God. This is one point that we can learn - however remotely - from God. DEAL WITH OUR OWN NUCLEAR EMERGENCIES FIRST. It doesn't matter that dead people are still floating around, it doesn't matter that roads aren't really being rebuilt. IF YOU HAVE A NUCLEAR PLANT FACING A MELTDOWN IN YOUR LIFE, YOU DEAL WITH IT FIRST! because the consequences of not doing so, is the eventual destruction of the things that you've tried so hard to rebuild. We need to prioritize on working on the things that are most important. We need to pray that God gives us the wisdom to discern and to know what things we should focus on, and what isn't that critical now. we are all facing a potential nuclear meltdown in the reactors of our lives. deal with it first - quickly!
