@ 9:00 PM :: 团契集体林修 - 哥林多前书 (1)! by LSTQ 2 shared

As i read 1 Corinthians 1, i can't help but to feel that God is using this passage to encourage us.

So very often the trials of this world is just so overwhelming. But God promises to keep us firm to the end, so that we will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ (v8). And i think this verse really reminds us to actively seek to be blameless in all aspects of life. This seems impossible, but with God, we know that all things are possible.

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.(v10)

This really reminds us of the need for love amongst fellow brothers and sisters. A love that is compromising, a love is that not self-seeking, a love that is God-glorifying.

But oh, wait, a love that is not self-seeking...? That actually isn't that much of the love that is expected. We need to love that is not just not self-seeking, but that we are other-serving - that we will proactively seek to cater to the needs of other brothers and sisters around us. Being not self-seeking can easily cause us to slip into the mentality of being laid back and ignorance (or neglect) of ourselves. But i'm sure God doesn't want us not to care about ourselves; but rather we're supposed to actively care and love others, more than how much we love ourselves. To me, that is the point.
